Slovenian public administration, whose operation is based on information systems by Genis, was awarded with excellence award by the UN.

NEW YORK, KRANJ, 23. 6. 2009 – Slovenia received the most prestigious UN award for excellence in the public administration area – UNPSA (United Nations Public Service Awards) – for its e-VEM project. e-VEM for companies was first in the "Improvement of assurance of public sector services" category, among numerous applicant countries from Northern America and Europe. As stated by the Slovenian Ministry of Public Administration, the UNPSA award is the highest acknowledgement of Slovenian public administration so far which is not tied solely to electronic services but also to the public administration solutions in general.

"We, at Genis share the enthusiasm about the award together with the Slovenian public administration, since the award also represents the acknowledgement of our 10 year active cooperation in the improvement of its operation," said Stane Štefančič, the director of Genis.

Namely, the company Genis is the author of the majority of the basic public registers (Central Population Register, Population Register, Permanent Population Register,…) which are the basis for electronic operation of the entire public administration, including electronic services for companies (G2B) and citizens (G2C). In addition, Genis cooperates in the implementation of advanced service approaches based on interoperable connecting of public records (PanEU, IO-Kindergartens, eBirths) for the development of new electronic services of public administration and services in the area of cross-border cooperation (ECRN, RISER).
