At this year's main professional event in the area of connecting European
public administrations, Genis presented Slovenian projects of eGovernment
cross-border services. Hradec Králové, Kranj, 8. 4. 2009 –
Company Genis, the leading provider of solutions and services for electronic
operation of companies and public administrations has presented innovative
projects of cross-border cooperation and eGovernment services at the „eID
and Public Registers“ conference, organized by the Czech Minitry of the
Interior and European Commission. The projects in question are PanEU, ECRN and
RISER which follow the most recent directives of European Union in the area of
interoperable connecting of European public administrations. The
mentioned conference was one of the most important events during the Czech
presidency of the European Council intended to connect participants from
throughout Europe included in the development and connecting of solutions and
services in the area of electronic identification and public registers. The
event was attended by approximately 2 000 participants and 100 exhibitors of
software products, solutions and services for public administration. Interoperable connecting of public registers speeds up the
construction of European information society. European Union encourages this
connecting mainly because of the ever growing population migrations and the
desire to improve the quality of life of the inhabitants. "For instance, the
European Union citizens in Slovenia were enabled to acquire permanent residence
and establish a company over the web by using the PanEU service," explained
Stane Štefančič. "Projects, such as ECRN and RISER will extremely simplify and
fasten mutual informing of public administrations regarding various events and
data changes of the European residents, regardless where in the EU they will
occur." Interoperable connecting enables the development of advanced public
administrations services which reduce the need to visit offices. Thus they
simplify resident's lives when the latter are living outside of their parent
country and need certain copies, for instance birth certificate, while
conducting standard procedures, such as registration of child birth or
acquiring passport. Slovenia is one of the leading European
countries in the area of implementing interoperability and holds the second
place in the European Union according to the last measurement of the
development of the eGovernment services. Substantial contribution to this
outstanding achievement was made by national electronic registers, such as
Central Population Register, Population Register and Permanent Population
Register, developed by Genis. "Slovenian public administration has established,
by using Genis's information systems, an electronic operation which enables
simplification of procedures and removal of administrative impediments," also
said Štefančič. In the area of connecting national registers, Genis cooperates
in both key European projects, namely ECRN, intended for connecting Population
Registers and RISER, intended for exchange of permanent residency data.
