Last week Genis has confirmed its qualification in information solutions development by completing a new important register on time – Identity Card Register.

BRUSSELS, KRANJ, 9th June 2008 – This years public administration information solutions developers summit GOV IT 2008 Summit, entitled "Solutions to transform government services" has presented challenges which public administrations face upon implementation of electronic operation and services. Experts from company Genis from Kranj have conducted a workshop entitled "Electronic Public registers at the heart of eGovernment and the base for Interoperability projects" which presented good practices upon development of public registers as basic information systems for eGovernment solutions. Genis's reference backbone for development of service oriented solutions was displayed, which enables fast establishment of interoperability operation in public administrations and reducing of administrative obstacles. Thus the participants were acquainted with advanced approaches and technologies used upon the execution of Population Register and Central Population Register and upon some of the first European interoperability projects, such as eCRN, Pan EU, e-Births and IO-Kindergartens.

Genis's solutions enabled Slovenian public administration to execute electronic operation and enable implementation of new quality electronic services. With these services Slovenian public administration could, in fairly short time, additionally simplify work within public administration along with errands of citizens and legal persons. "In Genis we enable European public administrations and other public institutions to, by using advanced technologies and innovations, on one hand optimize their operation and on the other, establish up-to-date electronic services for population and companies," also emphasized Štefančič.  

In the past week Genis has submitted in use to Slovenian public administration an important new backend system – Identity Card Register. New Identity Card Register brings several advantages; for instance the possibility of capturing photograph and signature on the application for issuing of identity card at the administration unit, registration of missing card at any administration unit and verifying the validity or authenticity of identity card over the internet. Identity card can also be obtained by citizens with foreign permanent residence address which was not possible before, and issuing application can be submitted at any administration unit in the RS.
