E-Births simplify life of Slovenian parents

KRANJ, 29.12.2008 – At the and of the last year maternity hospitals in
Ljubljana and Slovenj Gradec have started using e-Births information service,
developed in the company Genis.This service which is designed on
interoperability connecting technologies SOA enables Slovenian maternity
hospitals instant filing of claim for assigning unique personal identification
number (UPIN) and registration of birth and newborn's residence address.
By e-Births Genis has simplified administration tasks in maternity
hospitals and saved parents time of going to the Administration Unit. Due to
automated procedure, the service reduces the time needed for obtaining medical
card, tax number, UPIN and other documents for the newborn. By that various
national institutions, for instance Ministry of the Interior, Social Work
Centers, Health Insurance Institute, Tax Administration and Statistical Office,
have acquired quality and up-to-date data for various statistics and analyses
while confidentiality and safety of data in accordance with legislation demands
and strict safety politics is guaranteed.
E-Births service proofs
Genis's high qualification in the field of applications and processes
integration, since hospital's information center is, through web services,
connected with Permanent Population Register and subsequently with Population
Register and Central Population Register.
