Due to restrictions regarding anonymous telephone reports the Slovenian police
have decided to enable citizens to file an anonymous e-report of corrupting
criminal acts using web applicative solution by Genis. KRANJ, 10.
.4. 2009 – Company Genis, the leading provider of solutions and services
for electronic operation of companies and public administrations has developed
Anonymous e-report of corrupting act web application for the purposes of the
Ministry of the Internal Affairs. Web application enables the highest level of
anonymity and safety of the citizen and is operative 24 hours a day, all the
year round. Genis has developed the application in the most up-to-date
environment for the work procedures support, IBM Lotus 8.
Ensuring anonymity to citizens is of key importance for the success of the
system for anonymous reporting of criminal corruptive acts. Genis's Anonymous
e-report of corrupting act web application clears all electronic traces a
citizen leaves behind while working with the web application. This means that
even if the police desire to obtain this data it is not possible to determine
through which server, internet service provider and computer the report was
filed from. "Web application is developed using the most
up-to-date Lotus 8 technologies which enable safe connection of the web report
form with the backend part where the procedure of processing anonymous reports
takes place," said Janko Štefančič, technical director of company Genis.
The police have ensured an additional level of citizen's privacy by
including entry points of anonymous e-reports in the national eGovernment web
portal (www.e-uprava.si). The person
reporting does not have to enter personal data in the web form, and only the
content of anonymously reported crime act is transferred from e-Governemnt
portal to police. By Anonymous e-report of corruption acts, the police aim to
strengthen the cooperation with citizens and make a step forward in the
direction of improving efficiency. More information on the
