"SOA essentially means new ways of management and allows for the optimization of business, especially in larger organizations," pointed out Stane Štefančič, manager of the Genis company.
Connecting SOA concepts allows users the optimization of their business and
increases the value of existing investments in IT Solutions - by simplifying
the process of cost reductions. BRDO PRI KRANJU, 9. 12. 2009
– The Slovenian Information Technology Society (Slovensko društvo
Informatika), in cooperation with the Ministry of Public Administration and the
Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Technology organized the IJU
conference 2009. Genis, the leading provider of IT solutions for larger
electronic based enterprises and public institutions presented modern
information approaches to enable further optimization of operations and
increase competitiveness at the conference. In the Technology section, Genis
presented a practical integration of business applications and databases to the
new, closely tailored information services based on service-oriented
architecture (SOA). Such integration into Genis organizations helps to simplify
the business and allows them to implement the standardization of processes and
integration services, which enables them to outsource services to reduce costs
and increase competitiveness. 'SOA essentially means new ways of
management and allows for the optimization of business, especially in larger
organizations. Bringing together the various applications and information
sources into the new information services, actually connects, unifies and
speeds up operations, and ensures the efficient execution of business
processes,' explained Stane Štefanič, Genis company Director. Such information
services are standardized, so they can be used in lots of new applications.
This simplifies the development and at the same time increases responsiveness
to changes in the information technology business and the introduction of other
business models and services as well as inclusiveness of new companies.
Genis has produced their own reference framework for SOA integration, on
the basis of which they helped improve business in the Mladinska Knjiga Group.
Genis actively participates in interoperable business projects of public
administration, where they have produced the e-Births, PanEU and IO
Kindergarten solutions. 'Successful liaison to a project based on
SOA is the key approach, where Genis provides a number of best practices. The
introduction of SOA may not cover the entire business at the same time. It is
necessary to be implemented gradually and the whole organization should be
conscious of the project of including SOA,'said Mitja Šturm, head of SOA
projects in Genis. Software tools used for such integration
include the so-called “functional modelling” of business processes.
With this, companies can predict different scenarios before implementing the
solution, and carry out the integration and thus optimize the business process
works. This is why the use of SOA integration approaches is important in terms
of management organization and business improvements and should not be regarded
solely as an information project. SOA based technology organizations can
monitor the implementation of interactive processes, leading to further process
improvements. For more information on the IJU (IT in Public
